Intova Underwater Flash I purchased this flash to accompany my Intova Camera for a planned dive trip to Honduras. The unit worked as expected. Easy to use with pretty good power economy. The flash uses 2 AAA batteries and I only changed them once during a 400 picture trip. The unit has 3 syncing modes and 3 power/intensity modes. The armature and mount are pretty beefy and I had no problems with them. The only down side to the unit was my inability to diffuse the light. I finally solved this with a white plastic bag and a rubber band. Compared to some other more spendy flashes I am very satisfied. Helps avoid shadow of the camera's housing This little slave unit helps overcome a shadow cast by the camera strobe when taking close ups when the camera is in the housing, and gives the camera a little more reach. A useful addition, but I did sometimes have trouble getting to trigger. It might be because I had the optical cable attachment attached which does restrict the standard back flash from triggering the slave. Intova Flash This product performed well during snorkeling shooting. Using rechargeble batteries and using fully charged batteries before each dive is recommended.
